"Enlightenment is understanding that there is no-where to go, nothing to do and nobody to be except exactly who you're being right now."
The pain, the hurt is still there, but little by little it recedes toward the horizon, only to reappear as a wave on the beach.
Take solace in the knowledge that the tide is ebbing. Each following wave is weaker than the former. Soon it will touch you barely at all.........
But it will return. In a different way, feeling softer, less harsh, more understandable.
Such is Life. Someday, having learned from it, you'll be better in your own personal now.
Told you I was Melancholy.
Tonite I'm peaceful.
The tide has ebbed.
It will return, and I shall prepare the Hunt.

Howler, thanks for your comments over at the 'Post. You're about the tenth man I've met in the last two years whose wife has run off looking for the high life and giving her kids the shaft. The call of the feminist seduces them into thinking they can have it all, when they had it "all" (or as much as they were going to get) in the first place.
I did the financial calculations on what my first wife lost when she walked out on the family and it's in the seven figure range. How did that work out to be a better idea?
I swear, between Hollywood, divorce attornies and the feminists, we've managed to do a fair job of trashing the basic atomic element of civlization.
I find this post so comforting it makes one feel mellow - willing to set the pain down for awhile and just relax into life. You have really captured and shared a measure of peace.
