A Sunday Rumination........

Rarely do I Post on the weekends any more.........but Dragn is napping on the couch, I fixed everything I have to fix, bought a new Radial Arm Saw....and the "muse" is with me.....

Can't ignore Her, she might just leave.

I'm just plain and simple, truly and excitedly......In Love with this Woman.

Hory Clap.

Third Marriage......and never, ever before felt quite this way.......The first was "the thing to do"....at 19 years old. My gosh I had no clue. Neither of us had a clue, and it turned out rather less than "nice"......( I don't deal very well with a spouse breakeing one particular vow)....seems less than Honorable to me.....

Second?......Hoo Boy, a seriously Beautiful woman......but, with my TBI and ADD, didn't notice for long enough at any one time that we were Bugs Bunny married to Hannibal.......that's what I learned "after"...in the post operation briefing, as it were......

But Dragn? Hoooory Claaap!!!! She Is The One. No doubt, no hesitation, no question. From that moment when she jumped off her desk and into my arms......She is Truly Beautiful, Honorable and not just Beautiful on the "outside".

For the first time, I feel like I have to work a bit to be "worthy" of the Love of a Woman........

Lord knows, She has her quirks, as you may have noted, so do I........but every single moment with Her is Joy.......

All right, I'll stop now.....otherwise, you might think I'm all romantic and stuff....

27 June 2009.......Wow.

Oh, I bought a Tuxedo.
Hory Clap.

Army Testing another Space Age weapon......

Even more impressive than the AR12, the Full Auto recoiless Shotgun I Blogged on in a Post a ways back.....

The U.S. Army is set to start testing a computerized, high-tech projectile launcher that can take out bad guys hiding around corners and in caves or trenches, even if they're out of the soldier's line of sight.

Some experts call it the "Judge Dredd" gun, after the Sylvester Stallone movie. The Pentagon calls it the XM-25 Individual Air Burst Weapon, which uses a laser rangefinder to precisely measure the distance to a target, then primes a fuse on a timed grenade so that the projectile explodes exactly where it should.

"The way a soldier operates this is you basically find your target, then laze to it, which gives the range, then you get an adjusted aim point, adjust fire and pull the trigger," deputy program manager Richard Audette told Army News Service.

"Say you've lazed out to 543 meters ... when you pull the trigger it arms the round and fires it 543 meters plus or minus a one-, two- or three-meter increment, then it explodes over the target."

A squad trying to neutralize an enemy fighter wouldn't have to wait until he showed himself — instead, they could just aim to a spot near him, then use the XM-25 to have a grenade explode directly there.

"For example, in Iraq we had many instances where there was a sniper firing from a rooftop and you have a squad trying to engage that target, but the soldiers couldn't get to him with the weapons they had, so they'd call in the Air Force to drop a JDAM (joint direct attack munition)," said Audette. "We can take out the target at $25 per XM round as opposed to a $20,000 to $50,000 JDAM."

With a range of 750 meters — nearly half a mile — the XM-25 would also be very effective in Afghanistan, where Taliban fighters often hide behind rocks and in caves.

In addition to precision-timed grenades, the gun is also built to fire armor-piercing, door-breaching, anti-personnel and less-than-lethal rounds

Lourves me some high tech, save the Good Guys, Kill the Goblins weaponry....

Three Wollf Moon Tee.........

I'm as always, well ahead of the "cool" curve on this one. Bought one two years ago, purely because the artist used me, Wolfie the Bigger and Lil'Wolfie for his models.

Consider it a family portrait.

Good Mood for the Day.......

Fran and Marlo Cowan have been married for 62 years. Marlo is 89-years-old in this video. And both found themselves at the Mayo Clinic.

There happens to be a piano in the clinic’s atrium, and the Cowans decided to play.

There is more cheer and energy in this couple than many 20-year-olds. And they fill a hospital with laughter and smiles.

Hope to heck Dragn and I can do that when we're that old....well, except that she'll have to do the playing, I'll just stand around looking good and tapping my foot.....

The Ten Commadments.......

Some people have trouble with all those 'shalls' and 'shall nots' in the Ten commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms.

So, in the South they translated the 'King James'... no joke, (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainsesboro, TN)

(1) Just one G-d.......ps, it ain't Allah.

(2) Put nothin' before G-d.

(3) Watch yer mouth.

(4) Git yourself to Sabbath meetin'......Then go have a beer and take a nap

(5) Mind yer Ma & Pa.

(6) No killin'.....don't pull that trigger.

(7) No foolin' around with another fella's gal.....or you wife's sister neither.

(8) Don't take what ain't yers......or Bring that back, ain't got your name on it.

(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'....what goes on in your neightbor's trailer is his business.

(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff.

Makes sense to me.......still broke about five of 'em....how about you?

Memorial Day.....2009

Wow, I've been doing this for two years now. Memorial Day and Veteran's Day are two of my favorite, and least favorite National Holidays all at the same time......

Those who've known me know why..........sure it's a day off of the grind, but.....yannow me, you understand.

Today is the day that we honor our Fallen, those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, so that you and I could truly Live....and be Free.....

Rather than write another, I looked at some earlier Posts and decided I'd just link to last years.....and sent to me by "Hog" over at the "Porch".....it says what I want to say without ou having to read my ramblings.....so...what are you waiting for?

Go.
Memorial Day 2008

And on the other hand....it IS a day off....worked on Wolfie the Bigger's Jeep, battery problems, dontcha know, M'Lady is doing some movie editing for school, Uber and Kitteh are out in the yard, some James Taylor is playing in the garage, and all is right with the world....at least for the moment, because "they" will have to survive without me on this day....

Oh, anybodies want to know in one single song why I absolutely Love this Woman? Didn't think so, but you know me....here's what's playing in my garage......

And no, I don't agree with his politics.....doesn't friggin' matter when he's singing Love songs.

Love you Dragn......forever, and thanks for being this song.

A Brief History of the World..........

The way it all happened, with a Huge Hat Tip to my Buddy Dennis.......

For those that don't know about history. Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food is standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above in the Comments before cutting, pasting and forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to tick them off.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your position.

Politics and a lack of responsible leadership......

......in visual format. Our elected officials have it all wrong. It's "We the People", not "We the political hacks".........

They "used" to understand.

Now, they pass Laws that apply to the Citizenry, but not to themselves......

And they label People who don't agree with them as "Right wing extremists".....luckily, we're fighting back with the Conservative version of the ACLU......

Our answer to their arrogance and lack of concern for our Constitutional rights is fairly simple.....the Donald answer........

There.....I was political for a little bit without a long winded diatribe, but it made me sleepy. Maybe I'll join Uber on the couch.....

Disrespectful Ba$stard.........

This was sent to me, and I thought I would Post it...

Why is this a bit of a concern to me?........

Those of you who have hung around the Lair for a few years know that I lost my First Born She-cub........a Chicago Cop......and so this is just another thing about ourman in the White House that pi$$es me off......

The letter, with quite a bunch of Chi-Town Coppers and Feds in the e-mail list.....thanks NCISwit....

Hello everyone,

For those of you who do not know, I was in Washington D.C.. this past week, May 11-16 for the "police week." It is a week to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving as a law enforcement officer in the United States. I attended with the Honor Guard team from my police department

The week is filled with various events to honor fallen police officers and their families. To provide you with Just a little background, May 15 was established by President John Kennedy as "Peace Officers Memorial Day" and the calendar week of May 15 is known as "Police Week" according to presidential proclamation 3537.

POMA

The point of this email is to inform you of something I believe everyone should be aware of. President Barrack Obama did not attend this event. This may seem insignificant, but every year for at the past 21 years the president, regardless of political affiliation, has given a speech on May 15 on the steps of the U.S. capitol to the family members of fallen hero's.

I am sure the president has more pressing issues to focus on than attending a ceremony for the widows, parents, and children of fallen police officers. It is understandable he may have needed to miss the ceremony for a more urgent matter and I say that with all seriousness. But, at the time of the ceremony where do you think Barrack Obama was? He was giving a tour of the White House to the 2008 world series champion Philadelphia Phillie's. I know the Phillie's are important and all, but the man could not take 30 minutes out of his day to take a short car ride 10 minutes down Pennsylvania Ave. to the Capitol, give a 10 minute speech and then drive back to the white house.

This is not a political issue and has nothing to do with being a democrat, republican, green party, independent, or whatever other political affiliation you may have chosen. This is about honoring fallen officers and paying your respects. It is obvious we know where Barrack Obama stands when it comes to supporting your local, state, and federal law enforcement officers..

I apologize for making this such a lengthy email but I feel everyone should know what occurred on May 15, 2009. You will probably not hear this in the mainstream media so I would encourage you to share this with anyone and everyone you want.

Thank You,
Matt Young
West Chester Ohio

*But then, how much respect has he given to anyone?*
Now I'm pi$$ed off again, dammit.

Another "Old Guy" posting.....

Our Cubs should appreciate us, and just how "tough" we had it.......

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we were not overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Play Stations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no internet or chat rooms.......

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them...CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers (not including a certain Digital Lawyer),and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good...

While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their/our parents were.

Sorry, I was having a nostalgic moment.......thinking about the things that have changed throughout my life.....and here I am, just six weeks from embarking on another Grand adventure with a Beautiful, loving, not to mention tough, Woman.....

June 27th, marked in stone. She has my ring, we'll probably have about a hundred or so Folks and Friends in our back yard, a few kegs, water and sodas on ise in the back of my jeep, Tri-tip and chicken on the grill, and a whole lot of Love in the breeze.

Wow......how Life has changed for Wollf......oh, and I got be one of these this weekend...named him Mr. Tee-Rex, hory clap, he's s'posed to grow to 30" and live about 15 years......

So maybe things haven't changed that much.....I'm still a nut....oh and my Cubs? They play Outside....

I am Soooo going to Hell...........

No....srsly....you see, Dragn, as Catholic as I,got a present of a New Standard Bible from a dear friend, the wife of the Pastor....yup, Protestant....that is going to marry us.....and Hooo=Boy. I started reading.....

I've said before that I consider myself an Old Testament Christian, you know, "eye for an eye, wrathful G-d" sort of stuff....and I realised....well reconfirmed that I, especially with my Catholic upbringing, Purgatory, and my readings of Dante....I am just plain goin' to Hell.

Because it says in the Old Testament...

* eat fruit from a tree less than five years old. [Lev. 19:23]......I planted a Beverly Hills apple, and I was so excited when it came to fruit that I ate the heck out of those nasty, tart little beasties......*shoulda made pie*

* cross-breed animals. [Lev. 19:19].......Ummm, I had a Husky once who was.....well, she had these really odd looking puppies.....the neighbor's dog was a Beagle.....goofy looking dawgs.......

* grow two different plants in your garden. [Lev. 19:19].......but who hasn't? Do I get a pass for growing seven or eight different plants? Maybe I get a bye on this one, because I don't think I've ever grown "TWO"......

* wear a cotton-polyester blend T-Shirt. [Lev. 19:19].......Hell, plain and simple.

* read your horoscope. [Lev. 19:26]....Is that like every day, or even once in a while, like when someone says, "What's your sign?".........I'm Cancer, I know it.....Hell again.

* consult a psychic. [Lev. 19:31].......Had my palm read once at the Strawberry Festival.....didn't come true, d'uh.....but I guess it counts.....

* cut your hair. [Lev. 19:27]......USMC....need I say more? No longer "high and tight".....but way cut........Hell.

* trim your beard. [Lev. 19:27]........Does downright cutting the damm thing count? ......Probably....I'm doomed.

* are tattooed. [Lev. 19:28]........No excuse here Folkes, gots me two of 'em....

* plant crops for more than seven years. [Lev. 25:4, Ex. 23:10-13]....Might be Ok on this one, usually, I forget to plant a year or two.....

* bear a grudge. [Lev. 19:17]......Yup, although, I really do get over them. Remember that Best Friend of mine that I shot for sleeping with wife #1? He's now my friend again. He understood that sometimes, a man needs shooting.....(he hardly even limps anymore)

* collect interest on a loan. [Ex. 22:24]....Did that once on a promissory note....it was only oncw, though.....

* insult a leader. [Ex. 22:27]......Err,ummm, well, "countless times" comes to mind...Hell again.

* mistreat a foreigner. [Ex. 22:21, 23:9]......Oh give me a break. Does that include shooting them? Or just dropping off day l.
laborers in the wrong city? Guilty as charged....Hell again

* spread false rumors. [Ex. 23:1] (Sorry, Pat Robertson!).......NOT GUILTY. Maybe I have a chance after all........

* drive a Mercury. [Ex. 23:13] (Look it up.)...........Bad news on this one, and to add to it, Hey, I hope you never enjoyed a Queen song, or looked up at the sky when the moon was wit "you know who", or ever had a chemistry class, or your temperature taken, or that dammnable chocolate bar.....better I suppose, to look at Uranus....

So, what I've read so far says that I'm a Goner.......but if so, I'm comfortable with it, knowing that Gunney Fitz and my Firstborn Heather, have already taken over the place.........and made it much more enjoyable......

So, just enjoy the reason that we're doomed......remember Mercury, and saying the names of false gods?

Yes, all said in jest.......we Christians, and Christan Catholics have nothing to worry about......though we'll not know till we're on the other side........

Don't worry though......I've got Friends down there....
Love youse guys.

Some odd thoughts for the day......

Ah, the wisdom of the ages.....with a H/T to Theo

1.Birds of a feather flock together and crap on your car.

2.When I'm feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor's dog run to the end of his chain and gag himself.

3.A penny saved is a government oversight.

4.The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

5.The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement ...

6.He who hesitates is probably right.

7.Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are ' XL..'

8.If you think there is good in everybody, you haven't met everybody.

9..If you can smile when things go wrong , you have someone in mind to blame.

10.The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.

11.There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt

12.Did you ever notice: When you put the two words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs.'

13.Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

14.The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for..

15.Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

16.When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra..

17.You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

18.Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

19.First you forget names, then you forget faces. Then, you forget to pull up your zipper. It's worse when you forget to pull it down.

Tasmanian Devil Day........

Getting moved into a new house, and then the process of converting it, through hard work and Loving Hearts is an arduous...well, and amorous, task.

Want to hear about our Saturday? Too bad, I'm going to tell you anyway......

The reason I didn't blog over the weekend, by the numbers for brevity:

1...Woke up, got the Cubs up and fed, wrapped Ransom the Kitteh up in what we calla Kitteh Burrito for transport, loaded the Cubs and Dragn and Kitteh and headed of for a few errands......

2...Dropped Wollfie the Elder at Driver's Ed class, continued on to the Vet for a Ransom "outdoor kitteh" shot, turned around headed back to the Lair.

3...I scheduled a Carpet cleaner guy for the old Lair, dropped off Kitteh and reloaded to drive across town to pick up a "used" washer dreyer from a Lady. A single Lady.....as in she didn't have tool one for disconnecting the darn things. I, of course forgot, and we were in Dragn's Avalanche....a tool-less vehicle.

4...Back to the Lair to get the tools......Oops, now Lil Wolfie is running late for Piano Lesson....back across town to drop him....oops, no lesson today.....

5...Hey, says Dragn,"Best Buy is just around the corner, let's pop in and get an I-Touch docking station".......sure, no problema, except Wollf in an Electronics is considered "Unsafe Practices" by all regulatory agencies. walked out the store with a 42" Flat Panel TV, a Bee-damm-ewetiful three tier stand, and a fully integrated surround system............but not to worry, we remembered the docking station....

6...Then back across town to pick up the washer dryer.....Wait a minute, Hoss....seems the back of the Avalanche is filled with TV, et al....dammit.

7...To the Lair!!! Unload all the impetuously bought goodies into the garage....head back to the Ladies house, empty Avalanche and tools in hand. Disconnect, dolly out to the truck and wrestle the dryer...(light) and washer....(dammnably heavy), into the truck.....

*It's now 1230 hours, we're tired and hungry and thirsty, so....off to the Neighborhood haunt, Azar's for a light lunch and a beer........Back across town AGAIN, to pick up Wolfie the Elder from Driver's Ed, and the again to the Lair, where we found one of WTE's buddies hanging out with Uber the ferocious guard dog in the back yard.....I gave him stern warning against being in the yard with no one home as only I can do.....

8...Then had him and Wollfie the Elder off load the two machines........

9...Assembled them in place, hooked up the water and gas and power, and voila!! Dragn can wash the clothes in our own garage......yes, I can too.....

10...Carried in the TV, Stand and Surround, and assembled them, then Dragn hooked up the electronics.....Cubs went back to the X's house, and I readied for a much needed shower.......aaaah, I was looking forward to it.

No hot water!!! I turned it all the way to HOT and it was still freezing!! I NEEDED that shower, so shrieking like a little girlie man, I took it anyways.......Dammnable washer used all the hot water.....

Dressed, came out and warned Dragn of the no HOT situation, shivering to support my emphasis, but like a trooper, she decided to go Rambo too.......I giggled to myself.....

No screams from the shower! WTF? No WAY is she tougher than Wollf!!!

But smarter?
Yup.

In my tiredness, I had forgotten that this shower had HOT on the RIGHT side, not the LEFT. So...not only was I shivering whilst she was singing contentedly in the HOT shower.....I also had the very real knowledge that I can be a world class dumb a$$......oh, the pain.

So.....that's why I didn't blog this weekend

So.....Want to know what we did on Sunday?
Didn't think so......

Hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day.

Our Wedding Night.........

At 55 years of age, Wollf married Dragn, a lovely 40-year-old.

Since her new husband is so much older, Dragn decides that after their wedding she and Wollf should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her new but aged husband may over-exert himself if they spend the entire night together.

After the wedding festivities Dragn prepares herself for bed and the expected knock on the door.

Sure enough the knock comes, the door opens and there is Wollf, her 55-year-old groom ready for action. They unite as one. All goes wonderfully well, Wollf takes leave of his bride, and she prepares to go to sleep.

After a few minutes, Dragn hears another knock on her bedroom door, and it’s Wollf.

Again he is ready for more action. Somewhat surprised, Dragn consents for more coupling. When the newlyweds are done, Wollf kisses his young bride, bids her a fond goodnight and leaves.

She is set to go to sleep again, but, aha, you guessed it - Wollf is back again, rapping on the door, and is as fresh as a 25-year-old, ready for more action.

Once again they enjoy each other. But as Wollf gets set to leave again, his young bride says to him,

“I am thoroughly impressed that at your age you can perform so well and so often. I have been with guys less than half of your age who were only good once."

"You are truly a great lover, Wollf.”

Wollf, somewhat embarrassed, turns to Dragn and says, “You mean I was here already?”

Some Signs......

Shhhhhhh......it's a sekrit, don't tell any terrorists....

In case you needed to be told........

And one for the dyslexics in the crowd.......

Kinda says it all.......

Then, kinda doesn't really say anything.......

And this one is rather blunt....must be a Nunnery

Wow, what a heck of a road this must be.......

And all I can figure is that this must be in case Batman gets lost on the way home.....

There, now you've seen my collection of sign photos....well, at least the PG-13 ones.
Hope you smiled.

From M'Lady, and right back to her.....

A musical Interlude for her, not the romantic kind, just acknowledging her hometown, where her parents and siblings and Dragnlings still live.......

"Shutting Detroit Down" has a chance to be one of the most memorable country songs of its time because it's about a very real issue - our failing economy. People will look back in 10-20 years and remember the song as a reminder of these difficult times.

It's a political video, taking pot shots at Wall Street, and raising the working man up as innocent pawn. I personally don't completely agree with this completely....I think the UAW has quite a bit of culpability in making the Industry unprofitable....

And that from a Wollf who runs a Big Union Shop......oh well, enjoy the video. Dragn, I Love you.

PS.....we're not moving to Detroit.

As a follow up to the Swne Flu Post.........

It hit a little closer to home.....Wollfie the Elder, my 16 year old, had his High School closed due to the over reaction of school officials.

An Asian kid got sick at school, health folkes panicked....no school. Then the heat of a few hundred "reasonably" pi$$ed off Parental Units descended upon the Administration.....

Net result.....Wollfie the Elder and his cohorts are back in school again today.

Now.....because after re-reading my earlier Post, and realizing that I was ranting a bit at the "panic", I've decided to atone. I am truly apologetic. This is a little bit scary. So, what to do?

A Wollf Public Service. If you want to know whether or not you have the Swine/Mexican/H!V whatever the heck it is, follow the link below and follow the directions......

DO I HAVE THE SWINE FLU?

That's what I'm here for. You're welcome.

I'll be officially supporting these guys.........

Silly Pirates........

I just Love Stupid Criminal stories.........

From the TIMES ONLINE

Anne Barrowclough
From a distance the large ship on the horizon looked like the perfect target, ripe for a successful spot of piracy.

But as the Somali pirates sped toward the vessel sailing near the Seychelles, they were horrified to see two boats and a helicopter set off from their target and launch their own counter-attack.

They had failed to spot, in the dazzling sun, that the 'merchant ship' they thought they were intercepting was, in fact, a French naval ship bristling with cannons, radar technology and armed commandos.

When the three pirate boats were spotted heading toward them the frigate Nivose, one of the ships patrolling the region as part of the European Union anti-piracy mission Atalanta, headed into the sun to camouflage its true identity before turning to confront its attackers.

When the boats were close enough, Lieutenant Commander Jean-Marc le Quilliec sent his commandos out on outboards, with a helicopter to provide air support.

The helicopter fired two warning shots to stop the three boats from fleeing and within minutes the 11 pirates had surrendered.

Two of the attack boats were small skiffs which the pirates used as attack vessels and the third was a nine metre (30 foot) mother ship, used to transport supplies such as petrol, water and food.

Only one pirate was left on board the mother ship which had nothing on board except fuel and potates, said Lt Commander le Quilliec.

"He apparently thought the pirates had hijacked us," he said.

The commandos found two Kalashnikov assault rifles on one of the skiffs, ammunition, a rocket-launcher and five grenades.

The 11 captured pirates, some of them very young, were ordered to sit on the deck with their hands on their heads as French forces searched them.

"The guys we catch are getting younger and younger," said one navy soldier. "Look at this one, he can't be 17."

A French navy spokesman confirmed the capture of 11 pirates.

"The pirates are currently on the Nivose," he said.

"For the moment we don't have any indication of what the European Union forces want to do with these pirates."

The world's naval powers are dispatching an ever-growing fleet of warships in response to a scourge which is threatening to disrupt one of the world's busiest maritime trade routes...

They're getting younger and younger.....wonder if they have Pirate school?

I love happy endings.....and, contrary to popular belief, I really don't think that simply killing them all is the answer. More and more apprehension and trial is a better way to deter these unfortunates.......

Srsly. Well that, or kill them all.......
