In answer to Comments.....

Jeeze, you late to the Party Folks....kidding.

Wedding knives? Yup, I am a true believer in, oh yeah, Tools......

And my close Friends know it.....M'Lady Dragn also appreciates a good piece of steel.......

So, as Wedding presents, we received.....a Bone handled, painted "show knife"....see, those a Wolves on the blade......

And a byG-d Engraved Bowie, you know, with our names and wedding date....sort of to cut the cake.....or terrorists that might crash the party and such........

Although, I am Much more comfortable with my KaBar....that's what I was taught on and what I taught with.....yannow, sometime I ought to tell that story from my first hand to hand Instructor's point of view.......

Hope so........

Testing, this thing On?

The image above, with permission from the designer Chris Muir, is scheduled to show up throughout the blogosphere at midnight tonight.

To be truthful, I've never seen an episode of "South Park" although I understand its popularity due to its irreverent humor. The recent imposition of domestic sharia law on the writers of "South Park" for a joke involving the Prophet Muhammed is inexcusable in the Land of the Free and the Home of the First Amendment.

For the whole story,

And by the way, join in on the fun by posting on your site too......

Subject: FW: Mexican Assassins - Life on the border

-----Forwarded Message-----

Forwarded to me by a friend who recently retired from border patrol.........

As you know, one of the local ranchers was murdered in Douglas two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages similar to the one below from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement.

Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people. He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won’t read in the papers. The Border Patrol is afraid of starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico.

Bob Krentz was checking his water like he does every evening and came upon an illegal who was lying on the ground telling him he was sick. Bob called the Border Patrol and asked for a medical helicopter evac. As he turned to go back to his ATV he was shot in the side. The round came from down and angled up so they know the shooter was on the ground. Bob’s firearm was in the ATV so he had no chance. Wounded he called the Cochise County Sherriff and asked for help. Bleeding in the lungs he called his brother but the line was bad so he called his wife but again the line was bad.

Several ranchers heard the radio call and drove to his location. Bob was dead by this time. The ranchers tracked the shooter 8 miles back towards Mexico and cornered him in a brushy draw. This was all at night. The Sherriff and Border Patrol arrived and told them not to go down and engage the murderer. They went around to the back side and if you can believe it the assassin managed to get by a BP helicopter and a Sherriff’s posse and back to Mexico . So much for professional help when you need it.

One week before the murder Bob and his brother Phil (who I shoot with) hauled a huge quantity of drugs off the ranch that they found in trucks. One week before that a rancher near Naco did the same thing. Two nights later gangs broke into his ranch house and beat him and his wife and told them that if they touched any drugs they found they would come back and kill them. The ranchers here deal with cut fences and haul drug deliveries off their ranches all the time. What ranchers think is that the drug cartels beat the one rancher and shot Bob because they wanted to send a message. Bob always gave food and water to illegals and so they think they sent the assassin to pose as an illegal who was hungry and thirsty knowing it would catch Bob off guard.

What is going on down here is NOT being reported. You need to tell people how bad it is along the border. Texas is worse. Near El Paso it’s in a state of war. 5000 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez last year and it’s over 2000 so far this year. Gun sales down here are through the roof and I get emails from people wanting firearms training.

Something has to be done but I don’t hold out much hope. These gangs have groups in almost every city in the US . Please read below. This is serious business. The Barrio Azteca and their sub gangs are like Mexican Corporations and organized extremely well. If this doesn’t get dealt with down here you guys will deal with it on your streets.

It really is getting worse and worse down there Folks....."starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico."

I don't reckon it would be so small.....

Ok......the weekend......

......and I'll attempt not to bore you silly, but really, what does it matter? The whole idea of this Blog is to put a "Personality" to my Grand-Cubs and future Great Grand-Cubs....because, well basically, I would love to know what kind of "nutty" Folks I came from.....

Does that make sense? It's sort of an electronic immortality.....

The Gem and Mineral Show that I wrote of last? It was a smashing success, and I have gotten nothing but positive notes on my first time display......

Here it is.....complete with not only my "rocks", picked up pretty much all over the place, but also including a number of my Hawk and Duck feathers, Art from the walls of the Lair, and of course, our .....well, "odd" Wedding Knife......

Before closing up shop, M'Lady Dragn, Lil' Wolfie and Wolf the Elder...oh, and Me, travelled up to Ventura Harbor for a late lunch and a bit of Kite flying....yes, this totally cool Dragon Kite is looks so wonderful while flying.....

We chose good....don't you think?

Anyway, weekend is about over, I feel like a slug, gonna have a beer and snuggle up with M'Lady.....hopefully my light snoring doesn't affect her Bible reading....

Probably will.....oh well....Goodnight my Friends.

Prayers for DW's Momma in Law, and Peace to both...

Wollf the Rock Hound?

.....well, never thought of myself that way, but....

Had a Very nice old Gentleman come by the Lair last week to look at some of the "stuff" I've picked up over twenty five years of roaming the hinterlands, crawling in caves, climbing mountains....

He liked what he saw well enough to offer me my first ever Display Box at the Conejo Valley Gem and Mineral Show.....This weekend at the local Community Center....

Speaking of Center, that's just where it is, front and center......

And after I had set it up last night, I stood back and....

Yannow something? If I didn't know it was mine, I'd say "Wow, That guy is a serious Rockhound!"

I guess that's not so bad.

If you're near Thousand Oaks this weekend, and have an interest in rocks and pretties, stop by and visit the show....Borchard Park, all day Saturday and Sunday.

I'll post pictures, hopefully, later.

Navy Seal found NOT GUILTY!!!!

That's a Win One for the Good Guys........

— A U.S. military jury cleared a Navy SEAL Thursday of failing to prevent the beating of an Iraqi prisoner suspected of masterminding a 2004 attack that killed four American security contractors.

The contractors' burned bodies were dragged through the streets and two were hanged from a bridge over the Euphrates river in the former insurgent hotbed of Fallujah, in what became a turning point in the Iraq war.

The trial of three SEALs, the Navy's elite special forces unit, in the abuse case has outraged many Americans who see it as coddling terrorists.

A six-man jury found Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas, 29, of Blue Island, Illinois, not guilty of charges of dereliction of duty and attempting to influence the testimony of another service member.

The jury spent two hours deliberating the verdict.

"It's a big weight off my shoulders," a smiling and composed Huertas said as he left the courthouse at the U.S. military's Camp Victory on Baghdad's western outskirts.

"Compared to all the physical activity we go through, this has been mentally more challenging."

Oh Fer Crying out Loud..........

A radical Islamic website is warning the creators of "South Park" that they could face violent retribution for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit during an episode broadcast on Comedy Central last week. posted the warning following the 200th episode of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "South Park," which included a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad disguised in a bear suit. The Web posting also included a graphic photo of Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in 2004 after making a documentary on violence against Muslim women.

"We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show," the posting reads. "This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them."

Gosh, imagine if it was Thi Bear.......

The Religion of Peace, my Furry, Lupine Butt.

Did a "Job Walk" yesterday at a local Country Club.......

Several men are in the locker room.

A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker-function and begins to talk.

Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN: "Hello"

WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"

MAN: "Yes"

WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $1,000. Is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure, ..go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2010 models. I saw one I really liked".......

MAN: "How much?"

WOMAN: "$60,000"

MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing ... The house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $950,000"

MAN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $900,000. They will probably take it. If not, we can go the extra 50 thousand. If it's really a pretty good price."

WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!! I'll have something Special for You!!"

MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths agape.....

He smiles and asks: "Anyone know who this phone belongs to?...."

Oh, Jeebers!

Before I forget, and I really Do have to get on the road for work......

Yom Ha'atzmaut !

Today is Israeli Independence Day.

The Letter.........

Secret Code

After a President has been in office for 1 year it is customary for the last President to send a note of congratulations to the new one.

So yesterday when the note came from Bush to Obama, the President was somewhat troubled because it was written in code and all it said was:

This troubled him as he had always heard from his peers how former president Bush was perceived to have been scholarly challenged.

So he took the note to his wife. She was unable to decipher it.

They called in the VP, and he was unable to decode the message. They called in the chief of staff and the head of Secret Service detail and they were unable to determine the meaning of the note.

Next he called in the head of the Senate and Speaker of the House.

They both were mystified by the meaning of the coded message.

Now there was complete panic in the Oval Office.

They called all of their contacts in the media and sent copies of the note to all of them, and not one was able to come up with an answer.

A special emergency meeting was called by the staff.

All branches of the military, counter intelligence, CIA, FBI were called in, and the best minds were unable crack the code.

After a sleepless night, a now humbled President Obama picked up the phone and called the former president, and asked him the meaning of the note.

George Bush chuckled and replied: ‘Bud, you’re holding it upside down!’

......Well, I thought so.

A Ship named after Murtha???????

The Navy's decision to name a ship for the late Rep. John Murtha has outraged some critics who have not forgiven the Pennsylvania Democrat for accusing U.S. Marines of murdering Iraqi civilians "in cold blood" five years ago.

The Washington Times denounced the tribute to the powerful congressman, a former Marine Corps officer, in its editorial on Thursday.

"This is a slap in the face to every service member who bridled when Murtha publicly accused Marines in Iraq of intentionally killing women and children in cold blood," the editorial reads.

The newspaper said the honor shouldn't go to "a political hack whose most successful defensive maneuver was saving his pork-laden earmarks from surprise attacks of fiscal responsibility."

I couldn't agree more. In fact, Murtha the piece of crap shows my feelings fairly well for an old dead guy.

Where I come from, that hand gesture is universal for "Bravo Sierra!!"

Come to your senses, Navy.

An "IN" joke.......

.....regarding comment by my Friend ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ.......

It ain't the cracked lens, it's more likely the bullet holes.......

But thank goodness for me, a goodly number of Lawmen are Former Jarheads.......

How about a little heartwarming.........

Problem: three curious red fox cubs with their heads stuck in a storm drain grate, their mother screaming for them from their nearby den. Solution: dishwashing detergent.

A Starkweather Road resident discovered the stranded cubs and called police. Animal Control Officer Karen Stone responded and called local firefighters for help.

The firefighters were able to pry the grate up a bit, but they had no tool to cut the thick metal. So she tried oiling their heads with Vaseline to push them back through. That didn't work. Neither did corn oil.

Finally, Stone said, she soaped the cubs heads with Dawn dishwashing detergent, and through a laborious process — the cubs straining up the wrong way, biting at her gloved hands, the mother continuing to wail — she was able to push their ears down and through the grate. The third cub, which had a larger head than the other two, was the most difficult, Stone said.

Stone placed the cubs in a dog crate in her van, drove them up near the den and released them. They scampered away towards home.

"Except for being a little soapy, I think they were OK," she said.

Nice Lady, lucky Fox pups, huh?

Speaking of that Last Post........

....and Yes, I know that I am a bit of an ethnocentrist, and maebbe even just a bit of an elitist....

But it got me to,

This afternoon I went to sign my Dogs up for welfare.

Well, the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare".

So I explained to her that my Dogs are mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and have no frigging clue who their Daddies are.

They expect me to feed them, provide them with housing and medical care, and feel guilty because they are just dogs.

So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify. My Dogs get their first checks Friday

I know, *Boo Hiss*

Somebody's doing it Right..... in my "Home" State of Arizona.....

Any of my three regular readers knows exactly where I stand on ILLEGAL immigration, so let's just fly this one out there.....all "emphasis" is mine....

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation.

It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal.

Immigrants' rights groups roundly criticized the bill. "The objective is to make life miserable for immigrants so that they leave the state," said Chris Newman, general counsel for the Los Angeles-based National Day Laborer Organizing Network.

Well, no kidding there Bunky. "The objective is to make life miserable for immigrants so that they leave the state," .....That's the friggin' IDEA!! But not immigrants.....ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS....THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE.

"The bill constitutes a complete disregard for the rights of nonwhites in Arizona. It effectively mandates racial profiling."

No, it doesn't. It gives Police Officers the right to check for Citizenship. Most all of my "American of Hispanic descent" Friends, and I have a LOT of them, don't like the Illegal problem either. Ask me if I'm a Citizen, I'm Ok with it.....

"This updated version gives our local police officers the tools they need to combat illegal immigration, while protecting the civil rights of citizens and legal residents." Like I said......

However, human rights groups are certain to challenge the measure in court, said Joe Rubio, lead organizer for Valley Interfaith Project, a Phoenix-based advocacy group, calling it "an economic train wreck."

He added that "Arizona's economic recovery will lag way behind the country's if we keep chasing away our workforce. Where do the legislators think business will find workers?"

Bravo Sierra.....the vacuum will be filled....maybe by Legal immigrants, and or the scores of American Citizens who are currently out of work?

Yea, 'Zona.....I hope it stands.

Ewe Can't Catch Me.........

From the Sun......

TWO escaped convicts have dodged a huge manhunt - by disguising themselves as SHEEP.
The pair dressed in full sheepskin fleeces, complete with heads, to lie low among farm flocks.

Robbers Maximiliano Pereyra, 25, and Ariel Diaz, 28, stole the sheep hides from a ranch after breaking out of an Argentinian maximum security prison a week ago.

And they have managed to evade the 300 cops on their trail - despite locals seeing them running through fields at night.

A farmworker at La Almeda said: "They were wearing grey clothes but had full sheepskins, including the sheeps' heads, over their heads and backs."

Police say spotting the pair among thousands of sheep is "almost impossible". But one warned: "They can't pull the wool over our eyes forever."

So....Busy-ish weekend as always.... and a funny, well to me....M'Lady Dragn is doing a once a week Bible Study with the Girls, Tiberius, the Fox-Chihuahua mix?

He decimated her study guide. I suppose he "hungered" for the Word of G-d.

I went out earlier and bought a couple of skotch tapes for her, and she has been unravelling and taping the whole darn thing together ever since......As the Lady says, she has a "touch" of OCD, and by gosh it's coming together...little teeny piece by piece.

And luckily, she's enjoying it, rather like a jig saw puzzle with the added distraction of....well.....sogginess.....

And the final touch? Dragn, a well respected Teacher in the community, will have to tell her Study Group leader, that "My Dog ate my homework".......

Am I wrong to find that hilarious?
I Love Her.

The Rabbit..........

One fine, sunny day, a rabbit sat outside his burrow, typing on his laptop. Along came a fox, out for a walk.

"What are you working on, Rabbit?" asked the fox.

"My thesis," said the rabbit.

"Hmm. What's it about?" asked the fox.

"It's about how rabbits eat foxes," replied the rabbit.

"That's ridiculous!" exclaimed the fox. "Any fool knows that rabbits don't eat foxes."

"Sure they do," said the rabbit. "And I can prove it! Come into my burrow."

They disappeared inside and after a few minutes, the rabbit emerged alone, returned to his laptop, and resumed typing.

Soon, a wolf came along. "What are you working on, Rabbit?"

"My thesis," the rabbit replied.

"Hmm. What's it about?" asked the wolf.

"It's about how rabbits eat wolves," said the rabbit.

"That's ridiculous!" exclaimed the wolf. "Any fool knows that rabbits don't eat wolves."

"Sure they do," said the rabbit calmly. "And I can prove it! Come into my burrow."

They disappeared inside and after a few minutes, the rabbit emerged alone, returned to his laptop, and resumed typing.

Meanwhile, inside the rabbit's burrow there was a pile of fox bones and a pile of wolf bones -- and a lion picking his teeth.

The Moral: It doesn't matter what you choose for a thesis subject. It doesn't matter what you use for data. What matters is who you have for a thesis advisor!

Musical Interlude for Monday.......

He's still got that certain "Russell" style, and mixing it up with the Zac Brown Band......

Well, just enjoy and feel good for a while.......

He is Risen....... of my now few and far between weekend Posts, because on weekends, "Wollfes Westestess......" Which of course means, that with M'Lady Dragn in my life, and the Cubs.....well let's just say that Wollf only rests from blogging......

But today is Easter.....thus the title of the Post. Church this morning was one of the most touching, thoughtful sermons that I've been to......

This evening, Wolf the Elder's best friend and momma and grandma are coming over for Easter will be a hoot, great People.

They also happen to be Jewish. Personally, I think that is cool beyond belief. We......Dragn and Wolf the Elder, and Lil'Wolfie, have been to their house for both Seder and Hanukka dinners and Fellowship.....

We, Dragn and I, are truly honored that they would accept this particular reciprocity......

One of the many reasons that I wholeheartedly support Israel and her Children.....well, a lot of it is that the Jews only hold us "Goyim" to the Noetic" SEVEN Commandments.....since I've broken a lot of "our" TEN......well, just say that I'm appreciative......

Being a Catholic, not a "Good" one by the was a bit odd to go to the local Protestant Church for Easter Service.....but you know what? I had a Great time, and the Service and Singing of Praises was pretty darn nice.

With my backgound of Catholicism and Amerind Lore, I have some "odd" Beliefs anyway....but as I said, it was a Great Service....ecumenical, if you will......but I really wish they had Hymnals.....or at least a "bouncing ball" on the video words for the songs.....

Anyway, wish us a good time at dinner, and remember the most Important part of our particular bent on Faith......

And, it happens to be the Answer to the Greeting that I titled this Post with..............

He is Risen INDEED!

Happy Easter to all of you.
Wollf and Dragn....and all the Cubs.

Now, I know this is silly.............

.....but it made your less than humble scribe say....."Huh?"......

And then, a News Report on it........

Somebody truly does have a lot of time on their hands......

*not to mention some serious talent*

And, the second one made me snicker.

Oh...... Have a Blessed Good Friday and a delightful Easter....
