My imagination says that it might go like this:

Costello: "Abbott, you know a lot about Politics."

Abbott: "Why, yes. I like to think that I do, Lou..."

Costello: "Ok, so who is the Leader of Russia?"

Abbott: "No, Hu is the Leader of China."

Costello: "Who's the Leader of China? I didn't even ask you that."

Abbott: "Yes he is."

Costello: "Who?"

Abbott: "You got it."

Costello: "You're puttin' me on..."

Abbott: "Exactly! Putin leads Russia!"

Costello: "Puttin' what?"

Abbott: "Russia.....Hu is China."

Costello "I don't know.......Third base?"

Abbott "Let's not go THERE again.....Hu is China, Putin is Russia."

Costello: "You are ill."

Abbott: "So, now we're asking about North Korea?"

Costello: "Why?"

An iPhone app that tracks down the Taliban has been developed by a U.S. soldier -- who put $26,000 of his own money into the project.

The idea for a smartphone application to assist soldiers in combat came to Capt. Jonathan J. Springer in a dream last July, he said Monday. The 31-year-old, from Fort Wayne, Ind., has worked with programmers ever since to make the idea a reality.

Tactical Nav, which is expected to be available through Apple’s App Store next month, assists soldiers in mapping, plotting and photographing waypoints on a battleground and conveying coordinates to supporting units.

Springer used a variety of armored vehicles, remote observation posts and harsh combat conditions to test the accuracy of his invention, which can also be used to direct artillery fire on enemy positions or call in helicopter support.

Springer, who serves as a battalion fire support officer in eastern Afghanistan, said most soldiers use smartphones and the app has been designed specifically for them.

“Since day one, I always believed that smartphones could be utilized by the U.S. military for combat purposes,” he said.

“Basically, the issue was the fact that these smartphones were being untapped by the army and I was motivated and determined to change that, even if it cost me my own money out of pocket to do so,” he added.

Sierra Club.......

The Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest Service were presenting an
alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote
population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried
and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club
had a "more humane" solution to this issue.

What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The
males would then be castrated and let loose again.

This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U.S. Forest
Service. All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a
couple of minutes.

Finally an old fellow in the back of the conference room stood up,
tipped his hat back and said; "Son, I don't think you understand our
problem here . . . These coyotes ain't screwin' our sheep . . . They're
eatin' 'em!"

The meeting never really got back to order . . .

A fond memory of raising little Gurls.....

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home.

My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’ Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy; and she watched him drink it up.

Then she said, (as only a mother would know), “‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water, is the toilet?”
